Exploring next-generation copper additive manufacturing technologies for advanced thermal and industrial applications

Addpark and Addireen have announced a strategic technical and business collaboration aimed at expanding the development and industrial adoption of copper and copper-alloy additive manufacturing technologies.

The partnership combines Addireen’s green laser metal additive manufacturing technology with Addpark’s expertise in advanced materials, additive manufacturing engineering, and industrial application development.

Beyond technical collaboration, the initiative also includes technology integration, application development, training, and ecosystem support activities aimed at accelerating the adoption of copper additive manufacturing technologies in the region.

Together, the two organizations aim to explore new industrial opportunities where thermal performance, electrical conductivity, and complex geometries are critical — particularly in areas such as advanced thermal systems, energy applications, aerospace components, and next-generation heat exchanger technologies.

Unlocking the Potential of Copper in Additive Manufacturing

Copper and copper alloys are widely used across industries such as energy systems, aerospace, and advanced thermal management due to their exceptional thermal and electrical conductivity.

However, these same properties have historically made copper difficult to process using  conventional infrared laser metal additive manufacturing systems.

Addireen has developed green laser–based metal additive manufacturing technology, which significantly improves energy absorption when processing copper and other highly reflective metals.

This enables:

  • • more stable printing conditions
  • • higher density copper parts
  • • improved process efficiency

Using short-wavelength green lasers, Addireen systems achieve high-precision copper printing with a relative density of ~99.8%. This capability unlocks complex geometries—while maintaining ~400 W/m·K thermal conductivity —shattering the boundaries of conventional manufacturing limits.

From Technology to Industrial Application

Within the BTech companies group, Addpark operates as a deep-tech engineering and manufacturing company focused on advanced materials and advanced additive manufacturing applications.

Through this collaboration, Addpark will play an important role in supporting the technology integration and industrial adoption of Addireen’s green laser additive manufacturing systems in the region.

In addition to application research, the collaboration will include:

  • • technology integration and application development support
  • • engineering and design collaboration for copper AM applications
  • • technical training and knowledge transfer programs
  • • process development and validation activities
  • • collaboration with industrial partners and research institutions

By combining machine technology with application-driven engineering capabilities, the collaboration aims to bridge the gap between new manufacturing technologies and real industrial applications.

Enabling Advanced Thermal and Industrial Applications

A major focus of the collaboration will be the exploration of thermally optimized copper components enabled by additive manufacturing.

Copper’s exceptional thermal conductivity makes it particularly suitable for applications such as:

  • • high-efficiency heat exchangers
  • • advanced cooling architectures
  • • energy system components
  • • aerospace thermal management solutions

Additive manufacturing enables the production of complex internal channels, optimized fluid flow geometries, and lightweight structures that are difficult to achieve with conventional manufacturing processes.

Through joint experimentation and application development, the collaboration aims to explore new engineering approaches that combine advanced materials, additive manufacturing design, and industrial performance requirements.

Strengthening the Advanced Manufacturing Ecosystem

Beyond individual technology development, the collaboration is also designed to contribute to the broader advanced manufacturing ecosystem in Türkiye and the surrounding region.

By combining machine technology expertise with engineering-driven application development, Addpark and Addireen aim to support knowledge exchange and collaborative research involving industrial partners and academic institutions.

This ecosystem-oriented approach is expected to accelerate the adoption of next-generation additive manufacturing technologies for high-performance materials and applications.
